About

My name is Jack. I live in London and I created Blueinkcode in 2017.

I do a lot of stuff with computers. I’ve been using Apple devices since 2009 and I own a growing collection of Macs and iOS devices going back beyond the year I was born.

In my free time I mess around with Swift and iOS Shortcuts, which occasionally proves fruitful, such as an app I made; Freezr.

I also love podcasts and I used to host site’s companion podcast - The Blue Ink Show. The show is now retired but you can still listen to the back catalogue on Apple Podcasts, Overcast, or your favourite podcast player.

Lots of people ask me why I love outdated, obsolete computers, and specifically Macs. Why do I spend money on collecting and restoring these old machines? I love the significance of the Macintosh in the 1980s, I love the mistakes of the Performas in the 1990s, and I love the undeniable whimsy of the iMac and iBook in the early 2000s. These machines should be preserved for the future, and I like to think I have a role in that preservation.

Contact Information

I'm always looking to grow my collection so if you have any devices in need of a home, let me know! Give me a shout on Mastodon, but if you'd prefer a more direct correspondence, my email is provided below. If I don’t reply to your email, or do so only after a very long time, please don’t take it personally; my inbox gets very cluttered.
